Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has decided to skip the National Assembly’s Budget 2024-25 session. He sought leave from the session, which was subsequently approved by the assembly secretariat. This move marks the second time Nawaz Sharif has skipped the National Assembly session, including the presentation of the Budget 2024-25 by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

Currently, both the lower and upper houses of the Parliament are engaged in discussions regarding the Budget 2024-25. Nawaz Sharif’s absence has sparked discussions within political circles, especially as efforts intensify to bring him back into the prime ministerial position, a role he has held three times before.

Insiders have revealed to ARY News that several key leaders within the PML-N are actively campaigning for Nawaz Sharif’s return as Prime Minister. This campaign gained momentum after he reclaimed his role as the president of the PML-N. Federal ministers and other influential party members have expressed their support for Nawaz Sharif’s potential return to the highest office.

At a recent gathering in Islamabad attended by federal ministers and foreign dignitaries, there were vocal expressions of support for Nawaz Sharif’s leadership. One federal minister stated, “We want Nawaz Sharif to become Prime Minister again to improve the country’s situation.” This sentiment underscores the desire among some PML-N leaders to see Nawaz Sharif resume a more active role in Pakistan’s political landscape.

The discussions and debates around the Budget 2024-25 continue, with Nawaz Sharif’s absence adding a layer of intrigue to the parliamentary proceedings. His potential return as Prime Minister remains a topic of significant interest and speculation within Pakistani politics.
