Authorities in Minneapolis have confirmed that Robin Westman, the suspect in the Annunciation Catholic Church and School shooting, uploaded a YouTube short featuring his manifesto just hours before the attack.

Westman, described as being in his early 20s, stormed the church on Tuesday morning as pupils attended mass, killing at least two children and wounding many more. Police say the gunman acted alone and ultimately took his own life after firing dozens of rounds.

The video, which has since been removed from YouTube, reportedly showed Westman outlining his grievances and motivations, though police have not disclosed its full contents. Investigators are analysing the material as part of their inquiry into his background and possible ideology.

Chief Brian O’Hara said Westman used three weapons a rifle, shotgun, and pistol during the attack, adding that most of the gunfire came from outside the church, though he may have entered briefly. Officers recovered Westman’s vehicle in the car park, where a smoke bomb was also found.

Hospitals in Minneapolis remain under pressure: Children’s Minnesota confirmed seven children, aged six to 14, were admitted in critical condition, with four undergoing surgery. Hennepin Healthcare is treating additional victims.

Federal agents, Minnesota state troopers, and SWAT teams assisted local police at the scene. A reunification zone was established for families as dozens of students were escorted to safety.

The City of Minneapolis stressed that there is no ongoing threat to the public. President Donald Trump said he had been “fully briefed”, while Governor Tim Walz called the incident a “horrific act of violence”.
