Conor McGregor ‘Set to Marry’ Long-Term Partner Dee Devlin at Historic Vatican Church, Reports Claim

Conor McGregor is reportedly due to marry his long-term partner Dee Devlin in a Vatican church today, according to Irish media reports. The Irish Independent said the ceremony is expected to take place at the Chiesa di Santo Stefano degli Abissini, a small historic church situated just behind St Peter’s Basilica.

The publication said sources inside the Vatican indicated that the venue had been booked, although earlier in the week Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni stated he was not aware of any wedding involving McGregor. A source close to the fighter confirmed to the Daily Mail that the Irish reports were accurate.

McGregor, 37, and Devlin, 38, have been together since 2008 and share four children. They announced their engagement in August 2020. Their preferred venue, the Sistine Chapel, was reportedly ruled out due to Vatican rules that prohibit weddings there.

Devlin has remained publicly supportive of McGregor following last year’s High Court civil case in Dublin. In that case, a jury found that McGregor had sexually assaulted Nikita Hand at a hotel in 2018. McGregor denied the allegation, saying the encounter had been consensual, but the jury rejected his account. Ireland’s Supreme Court later dismissed his appeal, concluding that he had received a fair trial.

Prosecutors had previously decided in 2019 not to bring criminal charges after reviewing a Garda investigation, leading Ms Hand to pursue a civil claim in 2021. McGregor was ordered to pay €248,000 (£218,000) in damages and legal costs.

Following the ruling, Devlin said the couple had dealt with the issue privately and that their family had emerged stronger. She said their four children were “a testament to who he is and who we are”.

McGregor last year announced his intention to run for the Irish presidency but failed to obtain the support required to appear on the ballot. He ended his campaign in September after discussions with his family.
