Footage has emerged showing former probation officer Bethany Dent-Reynolds kissing convicted murderer Kieran Robinson during a prison visit, shortly before she was jailed for misconduct in public office.
Dent-Reynolds, 27, was sentenced to eight months imprisonment after Woolwich Crown Court heard she engaged in an inappropriate relationship with Robinson while working for His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service.
Video from HMP Lowdham Grange in Nottinghamshire shows the pair embracing and kissing before sitting together on sofas. The footage captures them holding hands as they talk, even as another individual approaches them inside the Category B prison.
Dent-Reynolds first met Robinson at HMP Belmarsh, where she was employed. Their relationship became romantic after she moved into a probation officer role at HMP Brixton. Robinson and his cousin, Sean Robinson, are serving 23-year sentences for the 2020 murder of Donnell Rhule in West Dulwich, south London.
Prosecutors said Dent-Reynolds and Robinson exchanged numerous sexually explicit WhatsApp messages and calls. Her mobile phone was seized and examined, revealing intimate messages and images, as well as a request from Robinson for a “favour”.
The court heard she also accessed the probation service’s restricted Delius computer system using a colleague’s login credentials to look up Robinson’s case files. She then shared details of police interviews with him, telling him his co-defendants had “all stuck it on you”.
Prosecutor Sam Willis told the court that, while employed by the prison and probation service, Dent-Reynolds engaged in a relationship that breached the standards expected of her role.
During sentencing, the court was told she had been of previous good character. However, the judge concluded her conduct represented a serious breach of public trust.
Robinson remains in custody serving his sentence for murder.
