Three men charged in connection with the death of Keighley father-of-two Suhail Choudry appeared at Bradford Crown Court today after technical issues prevented a scheduled video-link hearing from proceeding yesterday.
Mr Choudry, 35, died in hospital on 11 February after suffering serious head injuries in an alleged assault in Flasby Street, Keighley, in the early hours of 8 February.
Mohammed Aliyan Khan, 23, Faisal Khan, 26, both of Malsis Road, Keighley, and Hakeem Gulzar, 27, of Plover Street, Keighley, are charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and violent disorder. All three remain in custody.
The trio had been due to appear via prison video link on 25 February, but the hearing could not go ahead because of technical difficulties. They were brought before the court today as proceedings resumed.
Rashid Hussain, 41, of Redcliffe Street, Keighley, who is also charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and violent disorder, remains remanded in custody in relation to the same case.
His Honour Judge Neil Clark confirmed that, due to the number of defendants and the scale of the case, a joint trial has been fixed for 25 January 2027. The court was told the trial could last up to eight weeks.
The court also heard that four additional individuals are currently on police bail and that three further arrests have been made as West Yorkshire Police continue their investigation.
Police have previously said initial enquiries indicated Mr Choudry had been chased and assaulted by a group armed with weapons, including bats and sticks, before sustaining fatal injuries.
