A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Assistant Chief Constable Lindsey Butterfield stated that officers are working to establish the full details of the incident. She extended condolences to the victim’s family, friends, and the wider school community.

Sheffield police have urged the public to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing distressing content related to the stabbing on social media, as it could cause further distress to the victim’s family and affect the investigation.

This is the second lockdown at All Saints Catholic High School within a week. On 29 January, the headteacher informed parents of a previous security alert following threats of violence between a small number of students.

An Ofsted report from 2023 rated the school as “Good,” with inspectors describing it as having a “strong ethos of warmth and respect.”

Police have closed Granville Road from the tram stop to Fitzwalter Road and asked the public to avoid the area while investigations continue. Officers remain at the scene to provide reassurance to parents, students, and residents.

Authorities have urged anyone with information that may assist the investigation to come forward.
