Far-right activist Tommy Robinson has been exposed for charging followers £28 per minute to hear his views on what he calls the “Islam invasion” of Britain.
The 42-year-old, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is currently on bail following an alleged assault at St Pancras station. He has been using the mentoring app Minnect to sell “advice sessions” and video replies to his supporters.
According to The Times, Robinson has already earned more than £9,194 from the app. His live coaching calls, which run at £390 for just 15 minutes, have been marketed as guidance for anti-Islam “activism”.
In conversations with a reporter posing as a supporter, Robinson encouraged so-called investigations into mosques and funding. He said:
“Get active, son … Find some confidence. Maybe investigate the mosques, all these sorts of things, bruv. Look at the funding. Start doing videos talking about it.”
In another exchange, Robinson warned of unrest if European governments move towards deportations:
“When the first European government attempts mass deportations, they will kick off. Chaos has to come then … all we can do is try and awaken more people with our speech.”
Robinson was recently arrested after returning to the UK from Faro, Portugal, following a trip to Tenerife. He had been wanted for questioning over the alleged assault at St Pancras. Video footage showed him near an unconscious man on the ground, claiming: “He’s come at me … you saw him come at me.”
Robinson, born in Luton, rose to prominence after founding the English Defence League (EDL) in 2009 following protests against a soldiers’ homecoming parade. He went on to set up the European Defence League before quitting the EDL in 2013, citing concerns over extremism.
He later joined the German anti-Islam group Pegida in 2016 and has remained active in far-right demonstrations in the UK. Despite a brief period distancing himself from such movements after serving a prison term for fraud, Robinson has since returned to high-profile activism, positioning himself as a leading critic of immigration and Islam.
