Footage has captured the moment a car ploughed into front gardens and parked vehicles in Birmingham, causing extensive damage before two men left the scene.
The incident happened on Burney Lane in Washwood Heath at around 10.30am on Monday (16 March), when the vehicle lost control opposite the Shahi Masala restaurant.
The car struck brick walls, metal gates, a wheelie bin and multiple vehicles parked on residential driveways, leaving a trail of destruction across several properties.
No injuries were reported.
Residents described hearing a loud impact as the vehicle crashed into homes.
Tariq Hussain, whose property was heavily damaged, said he returned from shopping to find his Toyota Estima and front gates destroyed.
He said he was “shocked” by the extent of the damage and is now awaiting insurance assessments.
Sabir Hussain, 82, who was inside his home at the time, said the impact caused panic after he heard what he described as an “almighty bang”.
He said he initially thought part of his house had collapsed before going outside to find debris scattered across the area, with damage to his car, wall and gate.
Another resident, Mohammed Hafeez, said it was “surprising nobody lost their life”, describing the incident as serious given the scale of destruction.
West Midlands Police confirmed they are investigating the crash and said officers attended the scene shortly after the incident.
In a statement, the force said they understand two men from the vehicle left the scene and enquiries are ongoing.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
