Three teenagers have been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Chloe Watson Dransfield after she was found with stab wounds in Austhorpe, Leeds, according to West Yorkshire Police.
Officers were called to Kennerleigh Avenue at 05:55 on Saturday, where Chloe was discovered unconscious in the street. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later died.
West Yorkshire Police said Kayla Smith, 18, and Archie Rycroft, 19, have been charged alongside a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons. All three have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court.
This follows an earlier update in which police confirmed the victim had died after being found seriously injured, prompting a murder investigation in the Austhorpe area.
A further 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, while an 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy previously arrested have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police said officers attended an address on Kennerleigh Avenue following reports of a young woman found unconscious, with the investigation now focused on the circumstances leading to the fatal stabbing.
Chloe’s family paid tribute, describing her as a “beautiful princess” and “my life, my world, my best friend” in a statement released following her death.
This comes as detectives continue to appeal for information from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
