A Bradford man has been jailed after using his home and a barbershop business as a front to supply drugs including cannabis, crack cocaine and heroin.
Danyaal Hussain, 27, of Amberley Street in Barkerend, was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison at Bradford Crown Court.
Police arrested Hussain at his home on December 9 last year, where officers found more than 2kg of cannabis valued at over £16,000. A coded safe inside a wardrobe contained a pink wallet holding £3,400 in cash.
Additional cannabis was discovered in tubs inside a coat on a banister and in a vehicle.
The court heard that Hussain’s barbershop was also used for drug supply. When officers searched the premises on the same day, they found storage compartments and a black rucksack containing 33 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, along with a further half kilogram of cannabis valued at £4,000.
In total, just over £17,500 in cash was seized from the two locations.
Analysis of mobile phones recovered during the investigation revealed bulk advertising messages for cannabis and communications consistent with drug dealing. Prosecutors said the messages indicated customers were being directed to the shop to obtain drugs.
Hussain pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property, namely cash.
The court heard he had two previous convictions for similar offences and had previously served prison sentences.
Sentencing, Judge Sophie McKone said Hussain had used the barbershop as a cover for criminal activity and continued dealing despite earlier convictions.
A Proceeds of Crime hearing is due to take place at a later date.
