World No 1 snooker player Judd Trump said his Instagram account was hacked after an explicit video was posted to his story.
The video, which was shared on Sunday, appeared to show a man in a hotel room holding his genitals. It was posted to the 36-year-old’s Instagram story, where he has around 325,000 followers.
The post was later deleted, but screenshots and recordings of the video circulated on social media.
On Monday morning, Trump posted a message on Instagram saying his account had been hacked.
He wrote: “Just a quick note to let everyone know that my Instagram account was hacked. Any images or content posted recently were not posted by me and do not represent me in any way.
“Please disregard them while I work to regain control of the account. Thank you for your understanding.”
That statement was later deleted.
Trump has not publicly provided further comment. Reports said representatives for the player had been approached.
The incident comes during a period in which Trump has said he has been living out of hotels after leaving Dubai following the outbreak of conflict involving Iran and the United States earlier this year.
Speaking previously, Trump said he had gone to Bangkok and was considering where to base himself while the situation remained uncertain.
Trump moved to Dubai in January 2024 and had said earlier this year that the decision was influenced by the weather and practice facilities available there.
