PTI Parliamentary Party Rejects Omar Ayub’s Resignation as Secretary General

Members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) parliamentary party have unanimously approved a resolution against accepting the resignation of the party’s Secretary General, Omar Ayub. This move comes in the wake of Ayub’s announcement that he was stepping down to focus on his responsibilities as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

Omar Ayub tendered his resignation on June 22, 2024, in a letter addressed to the party’s founder, Imran Khan, and current Chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, who is currently incarcerated. Ayub confirmed that Khan had accepted his resignation.

In a meeting held earlier today, PTI lawmakers passed a resolution urging Omar Ayub to continue in his role as Secretary General. The resolution expressed complete trust in his leadership and proposed that he should maintain his position within the party.

This development underscores the internal support for Ayub’s leadership within PTI and reflects the party’s desire for continuity in its senior ranks amid ongoing political challenges.
