Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told officials in the Middle East that he controlled both the United States and former President Donald Trump.
Speaking in a recent broadcast, Carlson said: “Bibi’s running around this is a fact, I’m not guessing about this because I talked to people he said it to is running around the Middle East, his region in his own country and telling people point blank, just stating it, ‘I control the United States. I control Donald Trump.’”
Carlson did not provide further details on when Netanyahu allegedly made the comments or to whom they were addressed, but he said multiple individuals in the region had relayed the remarks to him directly.
The claim adds to ongoing debates about U.S.-Israeli relations under Trump’s administration, during which the White House made several major policy moves favourable to Netanyahu, including the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the relocation of the U.S. embassy, and the withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal.
Neither Netanyahu nor his office has publicly responded to Carlson’s allegation.
