A major humanitarian fundraiser for Gaza will take place tomorrow at Wembley Arena in London, organised under the banner Together For Palestine and executive produced by musician Brian Eno. The sold-out event is being billed as the UK’s largest fundraising concert for Gaza.
The concert brings together an extensive line-up of international performers, actors and cultural figures. Among the musicians scheduled to perform are Paul Weller, Damon Albarn, Portishead, Nadine Shah, Neneh Cherry, PinkPantheress, Bastille, Jamie xx, and James Blake. Palestinian artists including singer Elyanna, musician Saint Levant, and rapper El Far3i are also due to appear.
A number of well-known actors and public figures are lending their voices to the event, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, Guy Pearce, Riz Ahmed, Ruth Negga, Jameela Jamil, and Eric Cantona. Other names include broadcaster Louis Theroux, journalist Mehdi Hasan, and Holocaust survivor Stephen Kapos.
Brian Eno said the concert aimed not only to raise funds but also to send a message of solidarity. “Every penny donated will go to Palestinian partners through Choose Love,” he wrote, referencing Taawon, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and the Palestine Medical Relief Service as beneficiaries. “But this is about more than just money. It’s about sending a message of love and solidarity to the people of Palestine, that they haven’t been forgotten.”
Performances will be interwoven with video interludes directed by theatre-maker Amir Nizar Zuabi, highlighting the voices of doctors, aid workers, teachers and journalists working in Gaza.
The evening will be hosted by comedian Guz Khan, who said: “When you see kids in Gaza facing bombs instead of books, you realise this can’t be normalised. Silence isn’t an option. This is about solidarity, love – and saying we see you, we stand with you.”
Palestinian DJ Abdulhadi, performing alongside Jamie xx, added: “Everyone has a lever. Mine is a stage. I’ll use it at Wembley to amplify Palestinian voices and make space to grieve, unite, and recharge.”
Tickets for the event sold out rapidly, but the concert will be livestreamed worldwide on YouTube from 8pm CET tomorrow.
