Rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly has been granted bail allowing him to return to the United Kingdom ahead of his trial for rape in Australia.
The 30-year-old music artist, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in a Perth hotel room on 28 September 2023, following a performance at nightclub Bar120 in Hillarys the previous night.
In March, he pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count of strangulation and four counts of sexual penetration without consent. At a trial listing hearing in June, two additional counts of sexual penetration without consent were revealed, for which no plea has yet been entered.
Barrientos’ case is scheduled for a 10-day trial beginning on 20 July 2026 at Perth District Court.
His lawyer had sought changes to his bail conditions, which previously required daily police check-ins, to allow him to return to the UK. The application has now been successful He is expected to fly back to Kent, England, next Tuesday.
Eighteen bail conditions have been imposed to ensure he returns to face trial. These include surrendering his passport to the courts when he returns to Perth no later than 7 January 2026, keeping his mobile phone switched on with location services enabled at all times, and a ban on posting about the case on social media. He is also prohibited from coming within 500 metres of two individuals identified in court by their initials.
Yung Filly, who has 1.8 million YouTube subscribers, is widely known for his online presence and television appearances. He has featured in Soccer Aid, BBC’s Would I Lie To You?, and Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.
