Arne Slot says he will hold important talks with Mohamed Salah on Friday to decide whether the forward will be involved in Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton at Anfield. The discussion follows a week of internal exchanges involving Salah, his representatives and the club.
When asked by Sky Sports News whether Salah had already played his final game for Liverpool, Slot said the next steps depend on their conversation, emphasising that he wants to speak with the player directly before commenting further. He said the outcome of the meeting will determine how the club proceeds.
Slot noted that he and Salah have already spoken several times since the draw with Sunderland, adding that both the player and his representatives have been in regular contact with the club. He declined to discuss details publicly, repeating that the next discussion should take place with Salah rather than through the media.
Asked whether he wanted Salah to remain at Liverpool, Slot said he had “no reason not to want Mo to stay”, indicating his position ahead of the talks.
