Newly released documents from the US Department of Justice include emails in which Jeffrey Epstein made unverified allegations about Microsoft founder Bill Gates, including claims that he contracted a sexually transmitted disease and sought secret medical treatment for his then-wife, Melinda.
The emails, dated July 18, 2013, appear to be drafts written by Epstein to himself and are included in a large batch of files recently published as part of ongoing transparency efforts related to the late financier.
In one message, Epstein claimed that Gates had asked him to delete emails referring to an alleged STD and to help obtain antibiotics that could be given to Melinda Gates without her knowledge. The draft also included personal remarks and criticism of Gates for distancing himself from Epstein.
The emails appear to have been written from the perspective of Boris Nikolic, a former senior adviser to Gates, and may have been intended as part of a resignation letter from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
In a separate draft email from the same day, Epstein wrote statements suggesting Nikolic had been involved in personal and professional disputes between Gates and his wife. The message claimed that he had assisted Gates in obtaining medication and facilitating personal relationships. These allegations have not been independently verified.

The documents form part of a new tranche of material released by the Justice Department, including millions of pages, images, and videos linked to Epstein’s activities and associates.
The release also includes previously unseen photographs showing Epstein and Gates together in various settings. In one image, Gates appears alongside a woman whose identity has been obscured.
Gates and Melinda were married from 1994 until their divorce in 2021. Melinda Gates has previously said that her former husband’s relationship with Epstein contributed to the breakdown of their marriage, although she has not provided specific details.
Bill Gates has publicly expressed regret over his association with Epstein and has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. He has stated that his meetings with Epstein were related to philanthropic and business matters.
In past interviews, Gates denied having a close friendship with Epstein. However, media investigations later reported that the two met on multiple occasions after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
Flight records and media reports have also indicated that Gates travelled on Epstein’s private jet in 2013, though Gates has said he was unaware the aircraft belonged to Epstein at the time.
Representatives for Bill and Melinda Gates have been contacted for comment on the latest document release. No response has yet been issued regarding the specific claims contained in the emails.
The Justice Department has not verified the accuracy of the allegations and has released the documents as part of broader transparency requirements.
