A Bradford man has been jailed after being convicted of multiple attempted rapes and sexual offences against a child.
Stuart Hartley, 47, of Dudley Hill Road, was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on 8 June to 15 years, made up of 13 years in prison and two years on licence.
Hartley was convicted of two counts of attempted rape of a child under 13, multiple sexual assaults of a child under 13, sexual activity with a child under 13 and two counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court heard the victim was aged between four and 12 when the abuse took place between 2005 and 2013.
Hartley is already subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The court also imposed an indefinite restraining order preventing contact with the victim.
Detective Sergeant Sam Swift, of Bradford District Child Safeguarding Unit, said Hartley had carried out sustained abuse over a long period.
She said he posed a significant danger to children and welcomed the sentence imposed by the court.
She also praised the victim and family for reporting the offences and said police would investigate reports of child sexual abuse regardless of how much time had passed.
