Kylian Mbappe has officially signed a contract to join Real Madrid on a free transfer once his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) expires on June 30. The French striker had verbally committed to the move in February and later confirmed his departure from PSG in May.

Mbappe, 25, has now finalized terms with Real Madrid and will make his move to Spain when the La Liga transfer window opens on July 1. The club is expected to announce the deal next week and could formally present the forward at the Bernabeu before the start of Euro 2024.

A World Cup winner in 2018, Mbappe leaves PSG as the club’s all-time leading scorer, having netted 256 goals since his arrival from Monaco on an initial loan in 2017. His new contract with Real Madrid runs until 2029, with Mbappe set to earn €15 million per season. Additionally, he will receive a €150 million signing bonus, paid out over five years, and retain a percentage of his image rights.

Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid will see him play alongside Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, who is expected to sign a new one-year extension with the club. Modric, 38, recently came on as a substitute during Madrid’s 15th European Cup victory, a 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

German midfielder Toni Kroos, 34, made his final appearance for Real Madrid during the same match, coming off the field with four minutes remaining after a decade with the club.
