The footage shows the police forcefully apprehending a protester who was standing in the street in front of the museum. This incident has sparked outrage, particularly as it follows a similar event just a few weeks earlier.

During a Nakba Day march in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn police were recorded punching at least five protesters after detaining them. These repeated instances of police violence against protesters have raised serious concerns about the conduct of law enforcement in handling peaceful demonstrations.

The pro-Palestinian protest at the Brooklyn Museum was part of a larger movement calling for an end to Israel’s actions in Gaza. Demonstrators set up tents in the museum’s lobby and unfurled a “Free Palestine” banner from the roof, leading to a heavy police response and multiple arrests.
