Knifeman Attacks Southport Holiday Club, Injuring Up to Six Children

In a horrifying incident in Southport, Merseyside, up to six children are feared to be seriously hurt after a knifeman targeted a holiday club. Armed police officers quickly detained a man and seized a knife following the attack.

Merseyside Police reported that they were called to a property on Hart Street at around 11.50am on Monday after receiving reports of a stabbing. Multiple people were wounded during the incident.

A statement from Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a major incident this morning, Monday, July 29. At around 11.50am, we were called to a property on Hart Street to reports of a stabbing. There are a number of reported casualties and more details will be confirmed when possible.”

The police have detained a male suspect who has been taken to a police station. Authorities have urged people to avoid the area while they deal with the incident but assured the public that there is no wider threat.

Emergency services remain at the scene, and further updates are expected as the situation develops.
