The initial post-mortem examination on the body of Dr. Michael Mosley has determined that he died of natural causes. The 67-year-old TV presenter’s remains were discovered in a rocky area on the Greek island of Symi on Sunday, four days after he went missing.

Greek police spokeswoman Konstantia Dimoglidou stated that the initial post-mortem found no injuries on Dr. Mosley’s body that could have caused his death. His time of death is estimated to be around 16:00 local time (14:00 BST) on Wednesday, the same day he went missing.

Ms. Dimoglidou mentioned that the conclusion of natural causes was based on the body’s position and the absence of any visible injuries. To further verify the cause of death, toxicology and histology reports have been ordered.

CCTV footage appears to show Dr. Mosley as he makes his way down a hillside near Agia Marina beach, shortly before he disappeared from view. This footage is the last known sighting of him alive.

Dr. Mosley, a father of four, was reported missing after he left Agios Nikolaos beach for a walk at around 13:30 local time (11:30 BST) on Wednesday. Greek authorities launched an extensive search amid high temperatures, trying to locate him.

The discovery of Dr. Mosley’s body was made by a bar manager after the island’s mayor noticed something unusual by the fence of the bar and alerted the staff, as reported by PA news agency. A police source told BBC News that Dr. Mosley had been dead “for a number of days.”

Dr. Mosley was renowned for his work as a TV presenter, documentary maker, journalist, and author, with popular programs such as “Trust Me, I’m a Doctor” and BBC Radio 4’s “Just One Thing” podcast. His unexpected death has saddened fans and colleagues alike, who remember him for his contributions to public health and broadcasting.

The investigation continues as authorities await the results of the toxicology and histology reports to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the circumstances surrounding Dr. Mosley’s death.
