Ayub Qassim Speaks Out About Jay Slater Disappearance: “He Left My Airbnb Alive”

Ayub Qassim, the Briton connected to the disappearance of teenager Jay Slater, has publicly stated, “He came to my Airbnb alive, and he left my Airbnb alive.” Qassim, 31, previously jailed for leading a drug operation in Wales, hosted Jay at his rented cottage in Tenerife just hours before the 19-year-old vanished on June 17.

Qassim, who rented the £40-a-night holiday home under the alias Ayub Abdul, invited Jay back to the cottage after a rave. In an interview with MailOnline, Qassim explained that he knew Jay through mutual friends and offered him a place to stay since Jay’s friends had left him alone.

Despite being questioned by Spanish police, both Qassim and his companion, known as ‘Johnny Vegas,’ have been deemed irrelevant to the ongoing investigation. Qassim emphasized that there was no argument with Jay and that he had even provided Jay with a blanket for the night.

Now back in Barking, east London, Qassim expressed frustration over the media attention, asserting, “I haven’t done anything.” He mentioned that he had cooperated fully with Spanish authorities but had not been in contact with private investigators, such as Mark Williams-Thomas.

Jay Slater’s disappearance remains a mystery, with search efforts continuing and various theories circulating. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek any clues that might lead to the missing teenager.
