The identity of the HMP Wandsworth inmate allegedly filmed engaging in sexual activities with female prison guard Linda De Sousa Abreu has been revealed as Linton Weirich. Weirich, a 36-year-old from west London, was jailed in April for stealing £65,000 worth of goods from a luxury flat in Kensington.

Weirich was recorded on a mobile phone allegedly engaging in a sexual act with De Sousa Abreu, who appeared in court yesterday charged with misconduct in public office. The items Weirich stole in the March 2022 raid included jewelry, belts, handbags, a laptop, and a suitcase.

In a distressing development, Weirich’s heavily pregnant girlfriend has been hospitalized with stress following the release of the alleged video. The scandal has drawn significant attention to the prison system’s security and conduct standards, prompting an investigation by the authorities.
