Former Supply Teacher Pleads Guilty To Child Sex Offences Including Upskirting At Schools

A former supply teacher from Greater Manchester has pleaded guilty to multiple child sex offences, including upskirting and voyeurism, following an investigation by Greater Manchester Police. Abusali Rahman, 35, of Salford, entered formal guilty pleas at Bolton Crown Court on 28 May 2026.

Rahman admitted 12 counts of taking an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, linked to upskirting images; four counts of publishing an obscene article involving AI-generated sexualised images; three counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child through AI-generated images; one count of distributing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child by sharing an upskirting image with another user; and one count of operating equipment beneath clothing without consent.

The offences are said to have taken place between December 2023 and June 2025 and involved 13 girls at several secondary schools across the north west. Police said all affected schools and the victims’ parents or guardians were informed, and safeguarding staff were made aware of the investigation. Rahman has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 1 September.

Detective Chief Superintendent Rebecca McKendrick, head of GMP’s Public Protection Division, said the force’s specialist online child abuse team had painstakingly built the case against Rahman. She said the victims had remained at the centre of the investigation and that police would continue to work with schools, local authorities and families to ensure support is in place for anyone affected.

The Crown Prosecution Service described the case as horrifying and said it involved an abuse of trust that affected multiple young victims. Senior Crown Prosecutor Alex Mann said Rahman fell far below the standards expected of his role, first by sharing sexualised deepfake images online and then escalating to upskirting and voyeurism offences. He said the guilty pleas mean Rahman will face the consequences of his actions without victims having to relive their experiences at trial.
