A Sheffield drug dealer has been jailed after a routine police stop led officers to uncover drugs, zombie knives and suspected county lines material across multiple vehicles.
Mohammad Khan, 22, of Abbeydale Road, was sentenced to six years and four months after admitting a series of drugs, weapons, driving and justice offences.
The investigation began on April 5, 2026, when officers on patrol in Sharrow smelled cannabis coming from a car.
Police searched the vehicle and found snap bags of cannabis.
Khan, who was driving, was arrested.
Second Car Contained Drugs And Zombie Knives
While Khan was being taken into custody, officers carried out a more extensive search of his Vauxhall.
They found several car keys, one of which opened a nearby Hyundai I10.
Inside that vehicle, officers discovered drugs, several zombie knives and a box of business cards suspected to be calling cards for a drugs line.
South Yorkshire Police said Khan was initially released on bail while further analysis and enquiries were carried out.
Khan Later Fled Police
Later that month, Khan managed to evade officers during a foot chase.
During the pursuit, police said he discarded items of clothing which contained further wraps of Class A drugs.
The investigation continued into his wider activities.
Car Crash Led To More Drugs
On May 3, a vehicle registered to Khan was involved in a collision on Sharrow Lane.
Witnesses told police that a man matching Khan’s description had fled the scene.
Officers searched the vehicle and again found a car key linked to another car.
That second vehicle also contained drugs.
Specialist Team Takes Over
As officers uncovered more evidence, Sheffield Fortify took over the investigation.
The specialist unit is responsible for tackling serious and organised crime in the district.
Police later executed a warrant at Khan’s home.
Officers recovered a number of mobile phones as well as calling cards matching those found in the Hyundai I10.
Khan Admits Multiple Offences
Khan was charged with three counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and two counts of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
He was also charged with two counts of possessing a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.
Further charges included dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
Khan pleaded guilty to all counts at an earlier hearing.
He was jailed for six years and four months on September 9.
