A man has been seriously injured after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster.
Emergency services were called to the park at 1.33pm on Saturday following reports that a man had been attacked inside the enclosure.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it sent two land ambulances, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor to the scene.
Footage Shows Man Inside Enclosure
Video shared on social media appears to show a man wearing a dark sweatshirt sitting inside the enclosure before the tiger approaches him.
The animal is then seen attacking the man as he shouts and attempts to react.
The footage shows the tiger biting and mauling him on the ground before standing over him.
The circumstances surrounding how the man entered the enclosure have not yet been officially established.
Park Evacuated And Closed
Visitors were evacuated from Yorkshire Wildlife Park following the incident.
Witness Dominic Ford, who was visiting with his four-year-old niece, said staff remained calm while directing people away from the area.

He said a significant emergency response followed, including police, ambulances and an air ambulance.
A black screen was later erected around the tiger enclosure.
Park Confirms ‘Serious Incident’
Yorkshire Wildlife Park confirmed that a serious incident had taken place.
In a statement, it said: “Our emergency response procedures were immediately activated, and emergency services are currently attending the scene.”
The park said it was working closely with the authorities to establish exactly what had happened.

“The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and animals remain our highest priority,” it added.
The park was closed for the remainder of Saturday and will also remain closed on Sunday.
Reports Tiger Was Shot Not Yet Confirmed
There have been reports that the tiger involved in the incident was shot by staff.
However, Yorkshire Wildlife Park has not confirmed this in its public statement, and no official confirmation from police has yet been issued.

The park is home to two tigers, a female named Tschuna and a male named Altai, which arrived in March last year.
It has not been confirmed which animal was involved in the incident.
Major Emergency Response
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 13.33 on Saturday 10 October 2026 to an incident at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.”

The service said it dispatched multiple resources, including two land ambulances, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor.
South Yorkshire Police have also been approached for further information.
The condition of the injured man has not yet been officially confirmed.
