Israel’s military confirmed carrying out attacks on two buildings overnight — one in the Shati refugee camp and another in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City. The military claims these strikes targeted Hamas fighters, according to Al Jazeera.

Reports indicate that at least six people were killed overnight when a UN-run school sheltering displaced individuals was attacked in Daraj. In a separate strike on a UN-run shelter in the Shati refugee camp, at least five people, including children, were killed. Additional reports mention five more casualties in other attacks overnight.

Israel’s military stated that its aircraft attacked sites where “terrorists operated from school premises” and that some of those targeted were involved in the October 7 Hamas attack and “holding hostages.”

Further reports have emerged that Israeli forces also bombed the family home of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in northern Gaza’s Shati camp, resulting in at least 10 fatalities, including Haniyeh’s sister.

In its social media posts, Israel’s military did not mention the targeting of Haniyeh’s relatives in the Shati attack.
