Police Say It’s ‘Very Unlikely’ Jay Slater Will Be Found Alive

Police searching for Jay Slater in Tenerife have expressed that it is ‘very unlikely’ he will be found alive if he became lost in the mountains. The 19-year-old has been missing for 11 days, and the Civil Guard on the island are continuing their search efforts.

A source revealed that while there is no current discussion of ending the search, the likelihood of Jay surviving under the given circumstances is slim. “No-one at the moment is talking about the search being brought to an end, even though it’s very unlikely Jay has survived if he got lost in the mountains in the way we were told he did,” the source stated.

Despite this grim outlook, the search teams are determined to continue their efforts, opting to give themselves more time before considering scaling back the operation. The search involves various methods, including ground teams, drones, and helicopters, focusing on the challenging mountainous terrain where Jay was last believed to be.
