Islamabad Police have arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan from the party’s Central Secretariat. The arrest was made on allegations that Hasan was heading a digital media cell involved in running propaganda against Pakistan and its integrity.

Reports initially suggested that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was also arrested, but police later clarified that only Hasan was detained during the raid, which was based on evidence. “The PTI digital media centre had become a centre of international disinformation, from where anti-Pakistan propaganda is run throughout the world,” stated the police.

During the raid, police arrested individuals directly involved in the alleged anti-national propaganda and seized all evidence from the PTI’s digital media cell. The PTI confirmed that computers and other goods were taken into custody from the party secretariat.

A video shared by the party on X shows numerous police vehicles and officials outside its secretariat. The situation is being closely monitored as more details emerge.

This development adds to the ongoing tensions between the PTI and law enforcement agencies, reflecting broader political strife in the country.
