The US embassy in Lebanon has issued a strong advisory for American citizens to leave the country immediately, citing increased regional tensions.

In a statement, the embassy urged all US citizens to use available commercial flights to depart from Lebanon. This comes as the conflict in the region, including hostilities involving Israel, escalates.

The embassy emphasised that citizens should not wait for the security situation to deteriorate further before making arrangements to leave.

This follows heightened concerns over safety in Lebanon, as various international bodies have been warning of potential escalations amid the ongoing regional conflict.
