Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has shared an emotional message on social media to mark what would have been the former One Direction star’s 32nd birthday.

Payne, who rose to fame on The X Factor before launching a solo career, died in October. Cassidy, who went public with the singer in 2022, posted a series of photos of their time together alongside a heartfelt note addressed to “my dearest Liam”.

“It breaks my heart being that I can’t hand you a physical birthday card today. That I can’t hear your laugh, or tell you all the things I wish I’d said a thousand more times,” Cassidy wrote. “Today, you would have been 32. In your 31 years here on this earth you brought so much joy, happiness and hope to so many – especially to me.”

She added: “I would give up years of my life just to give you a few more. I miss making memories with you. I miss having things to look forward to together.”

The influencer, who has nearly 950,000 Instagram followers, included images of the couple at the British Fashion Awards in December 2022, their red carpet debut. Other pictures showed them at a donut shop, playing in the snow, and Payne jumping mid-air with a smile.

Cassidy said Payne “still shines brightly, even from up there”, as fans across the world also marked the singer’s birthday with their own tributes online.
