Kent Police allege he was assaulted following a disturbance involving a small group of people. A short time later, a 16-year-old girl and two boys, aged 14 and 15, were arrested and taken into custody.

On Tuesday, the three teenagers, all from London, were charged with murder by joint venture and remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court.

A 12-year-old girl, arrested on 12 August in Basildon in connection with the incident, remains in custody while enquiries continue.

Detectives have urged anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact Kent Police’s Major Crime Unit.
