Search teams have intensified their efforts to locate missing British teenager Jay Slater, honing in on small buildings near where his phone last pinged in Rural de Teno Park, Tenerife. The renewed focus comes on the seventh day of the search, following a promising lead from his phone’s signal.

Officers from the Guardia Civil were observed circling two structures at the bottom of a ravine within the park on Sunday. This specific area has become the primary focus after extensive searches in the village of Masca and the surrounding rugged landscape yielded no significant findings.

Searchers could be seen examining blue barrels outside one of the small buildings, indicating a thorough investigation of every potential clue in the vicinity. The search efforts have been challenging due to the difficult terrain and extreme weather conditions, but the teams remain resolute in their mission to find Jay.

Jay Slater, 19, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, disappeared after attending the NRG music festival in Tenerife. He was last heard from on Monday morning, following an attempt to walk back to his accommodation after missing a bus.

The Slater family, who have been actively involved in the search, continue to hold out hope for Jay’s safe return. Jay’s father, Warren Slater, and his brother Zak have been on the ground in Tenerife, providing emotional support and participating in the search efforts.

The community has rallied around the family, with a dedicated Facebook group providing regular updates and a GoFundMe campaign raising over £27,000 to support the search. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Jay’s whereabouts or the individuals he was last seen with to come forward.

As the search continues, the focused efforts in Rural de Teno Park bring a renewed sense of urgency and hope. The determination of the search teams and the support from the community underscore the collective resolve to find Jay and bring him home safely.
