Police have arrested an influencer and former X Factor finalist after a car struck pedestrians in central London, as unconfirmed claims circulate online that one of the victims has died.
Officers detained Gabrielle Carrington, 29, known online as RIELLEUK, on suspicion of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving and drink driving following the incident in Soho.
Ms Carrington was an X Factor finalist with the girl band Miss Dynamix in 2013 before later building a following online as an influencer.
Emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Argyll Street at around 04:30 BST on Sunday.
A woman in her 30s, identified in reports as influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska, known as KlaudiaGlam, was taken to hospital in a critical condition. A man in his 50s sustained life-changing injuries, while another woman received treatment for minor injuries.
Police have confirmed the incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.
Footage circulating online appears to show a dispute involving several people outside a nightclub before a vehicle moves forward and strikes pedestrians on the pavement.
Additional video shows one of the victims being knocked to the ground and becoming trapped beneath the car as bystanders attempt to help.
Social media posts, including tributes shared by individuals claiming to be friends of Klaudia Zakrzewska, suggest she may have died following the incident. However, this has not been confirmed by police or medical officials.
One widely shared post describes the victim as a “kindest, most sweetest soul” and claims she was due to celebrate her birthday this week, while another message expresses grief at witnessing a close friend being fatally injured.
Authorities have not confirmed the identity of the victims or any fatalities, and enquiries remain ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell said officers are continuing to investigate the full circumstances and urged witnesses to come forward, noting that the area was busy at the time with venues still open.
Police continue to appeal for information as the investigation develops.
