US President Donald J. Trump has confirmed that American representatives are travelling to Islamabad for negotiations, aligning with earlier reporting by BPI News that preparations for talks were already underway in the Pakistani capital.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said:
“My Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan — They will be there tomorrow evening, for Negotiations.”

The confirmation comes after BPI News reported, based on security sources and on-the-ground observations, that Islamabad was moving towards lockdown conditions consistent with high-level diplomatic activity.

Earlier Security Indicators Pointed To Imminent Talks

Prior to Trump’s statement, BPI News had reported multiple indicators suggesting talks were imminent.

Residents along key routes between Nur Khan Airbase and the Serena Hotel told BPI News they had been instructed not to record convoy movements, while security personnel were deployed on rooftops.

Hotel guests reported being asked to leave, with no new bookings being accepted measures identical to those seen during the first round of talks earlier this month.

Security sources also pointed to the arrival of a US Air Force C-17 cargo aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase carrying vehicles and equipment, describing it as part of the logistical backbone for a high-profile diplomatic event.

In addition, Islamabad Traffic Police issued a detailed city-wide diversion plan, confirming that the Red Zone and Extended Red Zone would be completely sealed, while major routes including the Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway would face closures.

Public and heavy transport across Islamabad and Rawalpindi was suspended, with more than 10,000 personnel deployed in surrounding areas.

These developments, reported earlier by BPI News, indicated that preparations for foreign delegations were already in advanced stages.

Trump Links Talks To Strait Of Hormuz Tensions

In the same statement, Trump accused Iran of violating the ceasefire by firing on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, including ships linked to France and the United Kingdom.

He also confirmed that the United States would maintain pressure on Iran, referencing a continued blockade of Iranian ports and warning of further action if negotiations fail.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a central point of tension, with Iran previously stating it would restrict access if the blockade is not lifted.

Talks Come As Ceasefire Deadline Approaches

The confirmation of US representatives travelling to Islamabad comes as the two-week ceasefire approaches its expiry, increasing urgency around diplomatic efforts.

Iran has so far maintained a mixed position, with officials confirming that new US proposals are under review, while internal divisions remain over whether to proceed with a deal.

Sources in Iran told BPI News earlier that the delegation had been placed on standby to travel to Islamabad at short notice.
